The Silver Cos. is working on plans for a residential development next to the company’s Cowan Crossings commercial project in Fredericksburg.

A limited liability company composed of Silver principals Larry Silver, Jud Honaker and Ed Minniear last year bought land on the west side of the U.S. 1 Bypass near the intersection of Cowan Boulevard from Carter Yates Embrey and Keene Delahay Embrey Duffee.

The Silver Cos. has already started developing the commercially zoned land. A First Citizens Bank branch is being built there, and additional commercial tenants are being recruited.

The LLC also acquired residentially zoned land between the Harris Law Firm and Keeneland Road in the area of the Westwood subdivision.

The company is now working on a development plan that could lead to a homebuilder constructing about 55-60 new homes there, Honaker said.

Honaker expects development plans will be submitted to the city within a few weeks.
