Business Notes, 4/5/13

Here are some items from the world of Fredericksburg-area business of late:

  • Clothing retailer Buckle will open its store at the Spotsylvania Towne Centre on April 25. The store will be hiring for various positions; people can apply online at buckle.jobs.
  • Joel Young has been hired as a new attorney for the Fredericksburg office of law firm Reinhardt & Harper. Young will handle workers’ compensation cases.
  • Psychiatric Care Inc. recently purchased a roughly 1,425-square-foot office condo from Melville G. Wright III and Lynn S. Wright at Snowden Office Park in Fredericksburg for $290,000. The company will operate a therapy office at the location at 621-A Jefferson Davis Highway. Wilson Greenlaw Jr. and Mary Katherine Greenlaw of Cushman & Wakefield | Thalhimer represented the seller.
  • StellarOne Bank recently sold a 2,550-square-foot former branch building at 268 Main St. in Bowling Green to an investor, 268 Main St LLC, for $200,000. Jamie Scully, Paul Eakin and Kent Roberts with Cushman & Wakefield | Thalhimer helped broker the sale.
  • Construction on the first condominium units at the planned Lake Anna Resort is scheduled to begin late this summer. The development is on the Louisa County side of the State Route 208 bridge in Lake Anna, on the left as drivers cross into Louisa from Spotsylvania. Plans call for a hotel, waterfront condos, a beach and numerous amenities.
