Kybecca completes renovation project

Kybecca owners and siblings Rebecca and Matt Thomas stand behind the William Street restaurant’s new bar.
Kybecca has completed its transformation from a retail shop to a wine-focused restaurant and bar.
The William Street business in downtown Fredericksburg recently finished a renovation project on the right side of its ground-level space. Monday is opening night.
The space had previously been used for retail wine and beer sales along with specialty items. Now it features an eight-seat bar that was built out of wood salvaged from the basement storage area and wrapped with zinc. The bar will serve six draft beers, an array of cocktails with a focus on scotch and bourbon, and the business’ wide selection of wines.

Matt Thomas fixes a cocktail behind the new bar while bartenders Calvin Roberts, right, and Eugene Ellerbee look on.
There’s additional room in the renovated space for mingling and dining. New lighting has been added, and the basement has been converted into a wine cellar.
The left side of the business while facing the building from William Street remains the same as before the renovation. The menu will be the same throughout the restaurant.
Kybecca’s renovation continues the transformation of William Street into a dining and nighttime destination that has become known as “restaurant row.” Many nearby restaurants and nightspots are now in the works, including The Orion, Vivify Burger & Lounge and Deutschland Downtown.
