Here are some items from the world of Fredericksburg-area business of late.

  • Rebecca Rubin, president and CEO of Fredericksburg-based Marstel-Day LLC, recently co-authored an article in the Congressional Quarterly/Roll Call on the impact that federal budget cuts could have on the National Wildlife Refuge System as well as nearby military bases.   • Donley’s is holding an informational meeting March 21 for contractors interested in working on the upcoming 106,000-square-foot Campus Center project at the University of Mary Washington. The meeting will be held starting at 2 p.m. at UMW’s Stafford County campus. Click here for details.
  • Locally based CParker Consulting Inc. has received a contract from Marine Corps Systems Command for work in Quantico. The contract involves providing leadership training, facilitating group meetings and conducting workshops.
  • W.J. Vakos & Co. executive Dave Anderson will speak March 27 to the A.C.E.S. Industry Group about the company’s Spotsylvania Courthouse Village project. The group is made up of Fredericksburg-area architects, contractors, engineers, surveyors and site developers. The event will start at 11:30 a.m. at Renato’s in downtown Fredericksburg.   • Matt Armstrong and Rob Page will speak at a “mobile trends breakfast” starting at 7:30 a.m. Monday at the Fredericksburg Hospitality House in Central Park. Armstrong, managing director at Deedod Inc., and Page, CEO of Zope Corp. and Zebrareach, will talk about using mobile computing devices to build business.
