Local commercial real estate agents honored

Two Fredericksburg-based commercial real estate agents are on the CoStar Group’s recently released list of “power brokers” for 2012.

CoStar recognized both Virgil Nelson and Sharon Schmidt of Cushman & Wakefield | Thalhimer for being among the top retail leasing brokers in the Washington market.

Nelson was also named a “power broker” in the industrial leasing category.

CoStar uses sales and leasing volume to generate its annual list, which also recognizes commercial real estate firms. Many of the firms with a presence in the Fredericksburg area made the list.

Other agents who aren’t based in Fredericksburg but who are active locally were also recognized for their success in the Richmond and Washington markets.
