Subdivision proposed in Stafford

Stafford County-based Hour Homes Inc. is proposing a 25-home cluster subdivision on 68 acres at the southeast corner of Shelton Shop and Courthouse roads in Stafford.

Company owner Michael Stonehill recently submitted the application for the project, called Kings Crossing, to Stafford planning officials. The company hopes to get approval in the next couple of years and start building luxury homes on lots ranging from one to four acres.

The project is across Courthouse Road from McLean-based Elm Street Development’s proposed 95-home Woods at Augustine community. Elm Street is seeking to have the 69 acres for that development rezoned from agricultural to suburban residential. It’s expected to be before the Stafford Planning Commission next month.

Numerous other residential developments are also in the works along Courthouse Road in Stafford, including the large Embrey Mill and Colonial Forge projects.
