Commercial development planned on Garrisonville Road

The Thomas J. Wack Co. is planning a commercial development off Garrisonville Road in North Stafford.

The company last week filed a request to rezone 9.2 acres at the southeast corner of Parkway Boulevard and Garrisonville Road from agricultural to commercial. Local attorney Charlie Payne is handling the rezoning application, and Bowman Consulting is doing the engineering work.

Plans for the development call for a 6,500-square-foot convenience store and gas station, 4,400-square-foot bank, 15,000-square-foot pharmacy and three other commercial buildings totaling 25,000 square feet. The proposed businesses would have drive-throughs. Negotiations are under way with potential users, according to the rezoning application. No specific businesses are named.

The land is now owned by Darlene Dahlgren Davis, June Bruce Raines and Emma Jean Shackelford, according to the application. It now includes woods and three residential structures that would be removed as part of the development. The developer would make transportation improvements around the site.
