Trane distribution center to be built in Spotsylvania

A 20,000-square-foot distribution center will be built for Trane in Spotsylvania County’s Lansdowne Business Park.

Trane will distribute air conditioning equipment from the facility at 11205 New Albany Drive. Three local real estate investors and businessmen — Michael Colangelo, Tim Welsh and Philip Atkins — will own the building and lease it to Trane.

Welsh will sell the partnership the 3.1 acres for the facility and do the site work, Atkins will serve as general contractor and Colangelo will be managing partner.

The center is expected to be ready in late spring. It was designed for a 15,000-square-foot expansion should that be needed later.

The Salvation Army recently bought about 4.7 acres near that site for the organization’s planned headquarters and community center. Several other businesses and a church are also at the Lansdowne park.
