Notes from Central Park, Celebrate Virginia South

Here are four news items to pass along from Fredericksburg’s Central Park/Celebrate Virginia South developments:

  • The “And That” store in the former Shoppers Food & Pharmacy space opened Saturday. The store is owned by Christmas Tree Shops. The Buy Buy Baby store next door is expected to open by the end of November.
  • Navy Federal Credit Union has started work on its new facility near the Wegmans store and a PNC branch. The credit union’s branch will move from Carl D. Silver Parkway when the new facility is complete this coming summer or fall.
  • Leasing has begun on the 250-unit second phase of the Haven apartment community. The first units will be ready in January, and the development is expected to be completed in April. The Haven complex near the Spotsylvania Regional Medical Center will be done soon.
  • AAA Mid-Atlantic’s car-care facility at the former Fuddruckers restaurant has opened. It’s part of a new concept for AAA that combines auto maintenance and repair with the organization’s travel, insurance and member services.
