Historic downtown mansion has new owners

Bill Glover and Jeannie Dahnk are the new owners of the historic home at 1601 Caroline St.

A pair of Fredericksburg attorneys plan to give new life to a long-neglected historic downtown home.

Bill Glover and his wife and law partner, Jeannie Dahnk, last week purchased the roughly 5,500-square-foot home at 1601 Caroline St. from the Herman Groves estate.

Over the next six months or so, Glover and Dahnk plan to renovate the interior of the once-majestic riverfront home that has since fallen on hard times. They are working with Robert B. Payne Inc. and Jason Gallant of Rappahannock Restoration Inc. on the project.

Gallant previously renovated the Princess Anne Street house that is home to the couple’s Glover & Dahnk law firm.

Glover and Dahnk plan to move to the Caroline Street home following the interior renovation and then start fixing up the outside. They plan to sell their current home on Hawke Street.
