Stafford-based chocolate company now in six area stores
Virginia Chocolate Company’s products on display at the Olde Towne Butcher store in Fredericksburg. The company is based in Stafford County.
Chocolate produced by a Stafford County-based company is now being sold at six Fredericksburg-area stores.
Virginia Chocolate Company’s truffles, barks, bars and other products are manufactured and packaged in a facility near Stafford’s courthouse. Its chocolate bars are sold at the Olde Towne Butcher, The Virginia Wine Experience and Goolrick’s Pharmacy in downtown Fredericksburg. In Stafford they are available at Gary’s Ice Cream, Olde Virginia Gourmet and a 7-11 store near Rosner Nissan.
Tim Douglas, who has a background as a pastry chef, founded the company in 2004 and moved to Stafford in 2010. Jen Scales is his business partner. The company customizes candy bar wrappers for businesses, schools, sports teams and others.
