Spotsylvania EDA awards $32,500 in grants

Spotsylvania’s Economic Development Authority last week awarded grants totaling $32,500 to three businesses for expansion projects in the county.

Freeland Engineering received $10,000 to expand its Courthouse Road facility. Sunny’s Eco-Wash, which is outside the Spotsylvania Towne Centre, got $2,500 for an expansion. Vista Eye Specialists received $20,000 to acquire equipment for its new office in the Westpark Corporate Center.

The awards are part of a $100,000 budget allocation approved by the Spotsylvania Board of Supervisors to attract, retain and grow local employers. Applications for the next round of Business Incentive Grant program awards are due Dec. 1.
