Kings Dominion expanding children’s area
An expanded children’s area will open this coming spring at Kings Dominion, the Hanover County-based amusement park announced Wednesday.
Kings Dominion plans a multi-million-dollar addition to Planet Snoopy that will double the children’s area to 14 acres. It will be “the world’s largest Peanuts-themed children’s area,” the park says.
The expanded area will have at least a dozen new and re-themed attractions based on the Peanuts characters. It will also feature a new entrance fountain, live shows, daily meet-and-greets with the Peanuts characters and an open-air marketplace. Construction will begin after the Halloween Haunt event at the end of October.
Kings Dominion is off Interstate 95 just south of Caroline County. Here is a look at what to expect at the expanded Planet Snoopy:
