Spotsylvania car wash to be sold for $1.1 million
A pair of local real estate investors will buy a car wash property off State Route 3 in Spotsylvania County for $1.1 million.
Mark Doherty and Jeremy McCommons, who own Foundation Companies and MacDoc Realty, submitted the winning bid during a Monday afternoon auction at the 3,000-square-foot building and 1-acre lot at 5100 Plank Road. About 30 people attended, and 10 placed bids.
McCommons said Foundation Companies is still evaluating its options on whether to run the car wash itself or find an operator.
Doherty and McCommons also own the former Borders building in Fredericksburg’s Central Park shopping center. Barnes & Noble is now renovating that space and eyeing a November opening.
