Local broker buys Reddy Ice facility

An area real estate broker submitted the winning bid for the former Reddy Ice plant in downtown Fredericksburg at a Wednesday afternoon auction.
Alex Long of Weichert Realtors will pay $110,000 for the roughly 5,250-square-foot facility at 1901 Princess Anne St. About 15 people attended; there were three bidders, including Long.
The property is assessed at $592,400, almost all of which is from the value of the roughly 0.65-acre lot, according to city property records.
Higgenbotham Auctioneers International handled the auction.
