Telegraph Hill plans heading to City Council

A planned residential subdivision off Lafayette Boulevard in Fredericksburg that has generated some controversy will be before City Council.

Fredericksburg’s Planning Commission last week approved the final plans for the proposed 79-home Telegraph Hill neighborhood. Now it will be up to City Council to decide. A hearing date has not been scheduled yet.

The entrance into the 29-acre site is almost directly across Lafayette from the southern entrance to Lee Drive and the Civil War park. That has generated concern from the National Park Service. Others have worried about the implications for increased traffic on a stretch of Lafayette that has seen some bad accidents over the years.
