Goodyear, Merchant’s to go toe-to-toe in Stafford
Merchant’s and Goodyear are poised to go head-to-head along U.S. 17 in Stafford County.
The tire-focused companies are planning automotive service centers within close proximity of each other on the south side of U.S. 17 near the intersection of Celebrate Virginia Parkway.
Both companies have applied for a conditional use permit from Stafford and would buy the land for their facilities once that is obtained.
The Goodyear facility is planned on 1.1 acres at the intersection of U.S. 17 and Celebrate Virginia Parkway. It’s on land that is part of Celebrate Virginia North, which the Silver Cos. is developing.
The Merchant’s center would be on 0.68 acres about 700 feet southeast of where the Goodyear facility is planned. It would front U.S. 17 near the Lowe’s store and is in a bank-owned development called Cherry Grove.
