Former Longstreet’s partner opens restaurant in Port Royal

The former co-owner of a now-closed downtown Fredericksburg restaurant has opened a waterfront eatery in Port Royal.

Dave Hanlon, who formerly ran Longstreet’s on William Street in Fredericksburg, is now operating partner at a restaurant named River Haven at 136 Main St. in Port Royal. The restaurant, which opened in March, is off U.S. 301 overlooking the Rappahannock River.

Hanlon said a former Longstreet’s chef is his partner at River Haven. He said many of the Longstreet’s menu items are now served at River Haven, which is open seven days a week. A restaurant called Buster’s Place was formerly in the space Hanlon leased.
