Several Oktoberfest events planned in region

Park Lane Tavern

Capital Ale House’s planned Oktoberfest event in downtown Fredericksburg has generated most of the headlines of late. But it isn’t the only Oktoberfest party that will take place this fall in the Fredericksburg area.

At least two other local businesses are planning Oktoberfest events to be held the weekends right before and after Capital Ale’s fourth-annual celebration on Caroline Street in downtown Fredericksburg.

Capital Ale’s local event is scheduled for Sept. 29. The weekend before, the Blue & Gray Brewing Co. will hold its 10th-annual Oktoberfest at its brewery and brewpub on Dill Smith Drive in Spotsylvania County’s Bowman Center.

An Oktoberfest event will debut this year at the open-air Village section of the Spotsylvania Towne Centre the weekend after Capital Ale’s festival. Park Lane Tavern, formerly known as The Fredericksburg Pub, will host Oktoberfest on Oct. 6 inside and outside its pub and restaurant.
