Auction scheduled for unfinished Thornburg hotel
The unfinished Best Western hotel at 5217 Mudd Tavern Road in Spotsylvania County is again scheduled for foreclosure auction.
The hotel property, which is at the Thornburg exit off Interstate 95, is scheduled to be auctioned at 10:30 a.m. June 11 in front of Spotsylvania Circuit Court.
Work has long been stalled at the hotel, whose developer is Annandale-based Octain Kim Development LLC. The hotel is about 59,000 square feet and sits on about 2.8 acres. The property is assessed at about $3.84 million.
A foreclosure auction had been scheduled for July 2011, but it was called off. Spotsylvania County attorney R. Scott Pugh is scheduled to handle the auction this time. Often a bankruptcy filing or last-minute deal with the lender postpones auctions.
