Fredericksburg-based environmental consultant Marstel-Day LLC has received a $20 million, five-year contract from the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers’ Norfolk district.
Marstel-Day CEO Rebecca Rubin said the contract, which the U.S. Department of Defense announced late Tuesday, is the largest single award the company has won in its 10-year history.
Marstel-Day will help the Corps of Engineers with environmental restoration, conservation compliance, pollution prevention, technology, scientific studies, sustainable land use and real estate.
About half of Marstel-Day’s 90 employees work at the company’s Princess Anne Street headquarters. Rubin anticipates hiring more people in the future.
