Local construction firm declares bankruptcy
Spotsylvania County-based Jefferson Contracting Corporation Inc. filed for Chapter 7 bankruptcy protection this past weekend. Abdallah M. Madi is president and sole shareholder, according to the filing. His company has handled both commercial and residential construction. The firm has between 50 and 99 creditors, and estimates both assets and liabilities at between $1 million and $10 million, the filing shows. Washington attorney Kermit A. Rosenberg is representing Madi in the bankruptcy proceedings.
