Earlier today we told you where Fredericksburg-area residents bought their liquor in the 12 months ending June 30, 2011. Now here is information on what type of alcohol they (or should I say we) bought most frequently. The Virginia Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control ran these numbers for me at my request. They include sales from every ABC store in Fredericksburg and Caroline, King George, Stafford and Spotsylvania counties. Our local tastes are pretty consistent with the statewide brand rankings reported in ABC’s 2011 annual report. Here were the top 50 liquor brands in the Fredericksburg area in fiscal 2011, ranked by gross sales.
