Residents now moving in at Cobblestone Square

Cobblestone Square

The first residents have started moving into the new apartments at Cobblestone Square in downtown Fredericksburg. The first of eight new four-story apartment buildings at the complex off Lafayette Boulevard near the city’s train station has now been completed. The remaining seven buildings will be finished one at a time over the next several months, bringing about 300 new apartment units within walking distance of the city’s downtown business district. The renovation of the old rail depot building on the property is almost complete, and residents have been moving into the 12 loft-style apartments that were added to that structure. The depot building also houses the new leasing office, community clubhouse and fitness center, and it’s next to the newly added swimming pool. Home Properties Inc. owns the apartment community, which is adjacent to two owner-occupied condominium structures developed by the previous owners. Monthly apartment rents range from $985 to $1,585, according to the community’s website.
