New dermatology practice coming to Fredericksburg

Dr. Mark Eid is starting a new medical practice called Virginia Dermatology and Skin Surgery Center at 1985 Jefferson Davis Highway in Fredericksburg. Eid formed an LLC to purchase that 9,000-square-foot office building last month from the principals of local land development firm Bagby, Caldwell & Associates for $1.6 million, about its assessed value. Eid will lease part of the building back to BCA and use the remainder for his dermatology practice. W. Boutros & Co. is now renovating the property for Eid, who hopes to open the practice in mid-January.

Eid received his medical degree from Johns Hopkins University in 2006. Since then he has been in residency and fellowship programs including stints at Penn State University and the Medical College of Virginia in Richmond. He decided to open his practice in Fredericksburg because he likes the area but also because few dermatologists in the region focus on his specialty — Mohs skin cancer surgery. He will also do general dermatology work.
