UMW to offer course at Quantico Corporate Center

Quantico Corporate Center

The University of Mary Washington will offer a project management professional (PMP) certification exam preparation course this fall at the Quantico Corporate Center as one of the first of what is hoped to be many classes at a research and technology park in North Stafford, according to a news release Stafford sent this afternoon.

The planned research and technology park is  a partnership between Stafford County, George Mason University, UMW, Germanna Community College and ManTech International. The vision is for a park “where business and technology could unite” through professional training and certification programs for the workforce, graduate-level degrees and courses for Stafford high school students.

The PMP prep course goes for 35 hours and is designed for current and practicing project management professionals seeking to prepare for the certification exam. The course will be held Thursday nights starting Sept. 8 at the office of Conscious Security at 1000 Corporate Drive, Suite 119, at the QCC, which is off U.S. 1 and just south of Marine Corps Base Quantico.

For more information about the course, contact UMW’s Mark Safferstone at msaffers@umw.edu or 540/286-8013.
