Medic-1 Clinics Inc., which recently closed its final area urgent-care facility with little advance notice, filed for Chapter 7 bankruptcy protection last week, according to a filing in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Eastern District of Virginia. In the filing, Medic-1 lists assets at about $131,957 and liabilities at about $2.57 million. Creditors include BB&T, Rappahannock Electric Cooperative, Spotsylvania County, Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield, Bankers Insurance LLC, Central Reprographics, Columbia Gas of Virginia, the Virginia Employment Commission, Dominion Virginia Power, GE Healthcare, Union First Market Bank, the IRS and numerous Medic-1 employees including Parmelee himself.
