Moe’s Southwest Grill to open in Cosner’s Corner

Moe’s Southwest Grill has signed a lease for a 2,400-square-foot restaurant in Cosner’s Corner in Spotsylvania County, said Jim Ashby, the agent for Thalhimer|Cushman & Wakefield who handled the deal. The restaurant will likely open in August. It will be in an end-cap unit of a strip shopping building also occupied by a Virginia ABC store, a Smoothie King and a Supercuts. Ashby said a different franchise operator had planned to open a Moe’s in Cosner’s Corner in 2008 but backed off amid the recession.  He said the new lease, which was signed by an Atlanta-based operator, is evidence that the retail market is improving. Moe’s also has a restaurant locally at the Stafford Marketplace.

    Kudos to Spotsylvania County yet again. Seems like everything is going there. It’s a shame that in southern Stafford county off route 17 there is all this commercial land available and yet nothing going there. In fact some businesses that were planning on locating there have backed out. Ruby Tuesday, Sonic, Panera Bread & Aldi Food Market to name just a few. Most of the shopping center where Giant Food is on 17 is vacant and yet they continue to clear land for future growth. Residents of Stafford Lakes, England Run & Cardinal Forest as well as the rest of you in the route 17 corridor, don’t plan on seeing anything new anytime soon. The future is bleak for development in this area because we are so close to Central Park and other shopping meccas. So why did the developers destroy our land when nothing will ever be built on those parcels.

    I specifically will not go to Moe’s, because of the way they all yell “Welcome to Moe’s” every time someone comes in the door. It annoys the HECK out of me. (Also, the names of their combos are just about as annoying… )

    I love Moes! The queso is excellent and they have more variety than Chipotle. Chipotle also tends to be a little too spicy for me. I’m excited this will finally open! :)

    Even my 9yo said a cheer at this good news! The food is far more kid friendlier than Chipolte, which we parents love but can’t eat with the family. They have a good queso that we all love, plus the salsa bar is great! Welcome MOE’s — it’s about time!

    Oh great! Another Mexican restaurant! Adding to the already nauseating stench hanging in the night air when I try to enjoy an evening on my deck on a nice evening.
