Johnson Development Associates, a South Carolina-based firm that is now building the Haven apartment community in Fredericksburg’s Celebrate Virginia South, plans to build another Haven complex next to the Spotsylvania Regional Medical Center called The Haven at Cosner East. JDA is under contract to buy about 33.6 acres from the Silver Cos. at Cosner East, which Spotsylvania County’s Board of Supervisors rezoned Tuesday night to allow for the apartments. Johnson Development plans to build about 256 apartment units in the first phase of the project and has the right to eventually build up to 480 units. The land sale is expected to occur in the next few months, and construction could start this summer. See tomorrow’s FLS for more details.
