Stafford County’s Department of Economic Development has been working with Stafford County Schools, Germanna Community College and the University of Mary Washington to determine the education and workforce needs of area businesses. The group formed for this purpose is called the Stafford Workforce and Education Partnership (SWEP). Click here to read the group’s recently released final report, which provides an overview of the types of businesses in Stafford and their workforce/training needs. The report centers on the needs of defense contractors, healthcare professionals, skilled technicians and tourism representatives.
