Ukrop’s will close Spotsylvania store

Ukrop’s Super Markets will close the store in Spotsylvania County, company officials said today at a news conference in Richmond. That store is one of two Ukrop’s locations that isn’t included in Giant-Carlisle’s $140 million purchase of Ukrop’s. The store will likely close early next year, and Ukrop’s will help the employees there find jobs at other locations.

    Makes sense for Giant to not buy another store just down the street, but it’s a very sad day for the entire Community. The loss of Ukrops will leave very big shoes to fill.
