No. 2: "Investors snapped up a broad range of stocks Thursday, sending major indexes up more than 2 percent, after existing home sales jumped for the third straight month in June."

The first article appeared on CNNMoney.com on Oct. 9, the first time in years the Dow had closed below 9,000 points. Lehman Brothers had recently filed for bankruptcy protection, and the financial world seemed poised for catastrophic meltdown.

The second jubilant article, written by The Associated Press, ran Thursday. Investors celebrated the Dow crossing the 9,000-point line for the first time since January.
