Homes in Spotsy, Stafford now nearly same price
The median sales price for a home in Spotsylvania County was just $159 less than in Stafford County in November, according to data from Metropolitan Regional Information Systems Inc. That’s the smallest that the difference has been between the two counties since January 2000. During the housing boom of 2005-2007, median sales prices in Stafford were routinely more than $50,000 higher than those in Spotsylvania. Many D.C. commuters were willing to pay more to have that much less of a drive to work. But now weakness in the Prince William County market has pushed down prices in Stafford as well.
