Chamber to honor retiring businessmen
The Fredericksburg Regional Chamber of Commerce will honor four local business leaders who are retiring with a “Local Legends” event next month.
It will celebrate years of service by Gene Bailey, Joe Greene, Fred Rankin and Bill Young.
They not only “lead enterprises of great importance” to the region, but also “share a deep love for the community and a dedication to giving back to others,” according to a chamber press release.
“Local Legends” will take place at noon July 29 at the University of Mary Washington’s Jepson Alumni Executive Center.
Bailey is concluding a 14-year run as president of the Fredericksburg Regional Alliance. He currently serves on the Chamber of Commerce’s board of directors.
Greene is finishing his tenure as president of Mid-Atlantic Foam, which he founded in 1980. He served on the chamber’s board and chaired it in 2001.
Rankin is stepping down as president and CEO of Mary Washington Healthcare after 22 years. He served on the chamber’s board and chaired the board in 2000.
Young is retiring as vice chairman and CEO of Virginia Partners Bank, which he founded in 2008. Young served on the chamber’s board and chaired it in 2006.
Tickets and sponsorships for the “Local Legends Celebration of Service” event are available at $35 per person by calling 540/373-9400 or emailing whitney@freder icksburgchamber.org.
