ERI buys former local jail site for parking lot
Employment Resources Inc. on Wednesday purchased the 3.6-acre former local jail site off Lafayette Boulevard in Fredericksburg.
ERI, which operates The Gladys H. Oberle School, paid $1.3 million for the land at 1020 Lafayette Blvd., which was owned by a group of local investors including Andy Garrett and Hunter Greenlaw Jr.
The Oberle school, which focuses on workforce and academic training for special-needs teenagers and young adults, is adjacent to the land. The school will use the additional land for parking and storage, and longer-term it envisions building a soccer field there for students.
Greenlaw and Chris Waller brokered the sale for Vakos Real Estate.
