Amazon drops price on Razr Maxx HD
LOOKING FOR A last-minute Christmas gift?
As part of an annual sales event, Amazon.com has cut the price of one of my favorite Tech Toys of the year, the Motorola Droid Razr Maxx HD, to $149.99. It goes for $249.99 at Verizon Wireless stores. It’s been a top seller since its October 2012 launch.
Amazon overnight delivery will get it to you by Christmas Eve if you order by 3 p.m.Saturday, Dec. 22.
Its 4.7-inch HD AMOLED screen may be the most beautiful one out there at the moment, and it’s one of the sharper ones with its 1,280×720 pixel resolution.
It has a pretty fast, dual-core processor and high-speed 4G LTE data delivery. Verizon Wireless has extended its 4G LTE network to the Fredericksburg area.
Its super battery provides up to 32 hours of use per charge that may be extended further with the Smartactions app.
And it has 32 GB of internal storage, double that of its predecessor.
At 5.2 inches tall, 2.7 inches wide and .037 of a inch thick, it’s big, good-looking and tough, with its Kevlar fiber coating and Gorilla Glass display, but
a tad heavy at 4.7 ounces.
Motorola phones have always had pretty good cameras. The Razr Maxx HD has an 8-megapixel camera that takes sharp pictures with vibrant colors comparable to those shot by many point-and-shoot digital cameras.
In less than ideal lighting, it prompts you to switch to HDR mode.
When I was testing the rugged and cool Razr Maxx HD, it was a phone that male friends and family members would be glad
to receive as a gift.
But you’ll probably get coal in your own stocking if you surprise anyone with a phone for a gift. Be certain they want it and that their contract with their carrier has expired.
