Silver Cos. affiliate offering business financing

An affiliate of the Silver Cos. is offering to provide financing to people interested in opening a franchised business on one of the company’s area developments.

Many national chains, especially eateries, have franchise opportunities available in the Fredericksburg region and other parts of Virginia, said Jud Honaker, president of commercial development for the Silver Cos.

Honaker said it’s been hard for prospective franchisees to tap these opportunities due to a lack of available financing. Silver has set up an affiliated fund that can potentially help these prospects get the financing needed to start a local franchise. Silver officials have also pulled a list of available franchises that they can show to prospects.

Financing would be available only for franchisees opening the business on a Silver property. Locally those include the Cosner’s Corner area, Carter’s Crossing, Celebrate Virginia, the Quantico Corporate Center, Harrison Crossing and many other smaller developments.
