Brew shop celebrates National Homebrew Day
Update: Shorts Branch Brewing in Stafford will also celebrate. You can watch a demonstration of the pale ale being brewed two different ways: extract and all-grain methods. The shop is located at the Aquia Pines Campground, 3071 Jefferson Davis Highway in Stafford.
A Spotsylvania store that sells homebrewing supplies is celebrating National Homebrew Day Saturday.
The celebration is organized by the American Hombrewers Association and will encourage homebrewers all over the country to brew simultaneously on Saturday as part of the ‘Big Brew.’
Festivities at The Brew Shop will take place 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saurday. There will be all-grain and extract brewing demonstrations, free hot dogs and chili and discussions about homebrewing.
The three official recipes for the Big Brew are Regal Pale Ale, Split Open and Melt Imperial Stout and Black Dog Lager Schwarzbier.
There are more than 7,000 homebrewers around the world expected to participate this year.
The Brew Shop is located at 4413 Lafayette Blvd.
