Tea & Manners Washington’s Way

Anna, 6, William, 4, and Ava Schopfel 8, sit down with their tea and snacks during a Tea and Manners Session based upon George Washington’s “Rules of Civility and Decent Behavior.” Meanwhile their mother, Janelle, (far left) reminds them of their manners. The Schopfels are from King George County.

Visitors gathered at the George Washington National Monument to celebrate the 297th birthday of the nation’s first president on February 21, 2011 in Westmoreland County. The events of the day were co-sponsored by the National Park Service and the George Washington Birthplace Association.
