Courtland wins state basketball title

Here is one of my favorite outtakes from last night’s Group AA Division 4 state basketball championship game between Courtland and Salem:

I would have liked to see this lead our sports section. For celebration pictures, though this was shot in the first half, the outcome was pretty much locked in by halftime. I liked that this picture had such joy in it. By the end, the Cougars’ lead was so insurmountable that nobody really went wild when the buzzer sounded. -Mike Morones
