Free workshop for teachers at faith-based preschools
Peace Christian Preschool is hosting a free half-day workshop for preschool teachers on Saturday, Sept. 28, 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Pre-registration is required as only a limited number of spaces are available.
Gail McKoy with Joyful Noises Express will present two sessions: Fun with First Songs of Faith and Circle Time—With Rhythm and Rhyme.
“Fun with First Songs of Faith!” — Have some active fun learning new songs and rhythm activities that celebrate those first lessons of faith to share with preschoolers. Participate in songs about holidays, friendship, families, and God’s love. Play a variety of child-friendly instruments. Participants will take away some faith-based music ideas.
“Circle Time– with Rhythm and Rhyme!” — Learn a big variety of new songs and simple group games to add action to circle time. Have fun with activities that emphasize social skills, literacy, social studies, math, and physical/motor development. Learn about friendship games, letter activities and content-area songs that are all tied to concepts in the Virginia Foundation Blocks for Early Learning.
