Concert for Haiti
Two area choirs will team up later this month to raise money for elderly Haitians.
The Sanctuary Choir of Fredericksburg United Methodist Church and The Gospel Choir of Shiloh Baptist (Old Site) will perform gospel and spirituals on July 18, 3:30 p.m. in Kobler Hall of FUMC.
An offering at the concert will raise money to build a concrete home for homeless, elderly residents in Grison-garde, Haiti. Each two-room house costs $2,500 to build. Performers hope to raise enough for one home–and possibly two.
Fredericksburg United Methodist Church supports an orphanage nearby, and mission teams discovered that older residents needed homes.
