Maureen Wade, a parishioner at St. Francis of Assisi Church in Triangle, sent me this email about Holy Week:
I wish the pace of life would slow and allow us to truly celebrate Easter. Growing up I remember spending Good Friday afternoon inside with my family. No one was allowed to speak from the hours of noon to three when Jesus was on the cross. Our family would attend Holy Week services. Now, although my husband, kids & I celebrate at Easter Sunday Mass, the rest of the week is like any other. Our kids will be in school on Good Friday (all day) and Holy Saturday will be spent at a high school track meet and volleyball tournament. Life goes on without a pause. I miss the pause.
