God and Sports

Praying for your team? You’d be in the minority. According to a recent ESPN Magazine poll, most people think God stays out of sports. When asked if he affected the outcome of games or matches, 65 percent said no.

    It is surprising to me that a solid 35% think God cares if Kurt Warner wins the Super Bowl or determines the order of finish in a Nascar race. Thank God that you (or your team) performed well, but don’t be so ridiculous as to say “I’d like to thank God for letting us win today”….
