This weekend
Just a quick update on some religious happenings this weekend:
First, a comedy act, tomorrow, 7:30 p.m. at Trinity Fellowship. This is on Kings Highway, in the office building after the Chatham Bridge with all the flags. The act is not overtly Christian but organizers wanted to provide clean entertainment for the area. Tickets cost $12 each and will be available at the door.
Also, tomorrow, the Rev. Rick Warren will interview John McCain and Barack Obama about social issues. Warren is the pastor of a megachurch in California, the author of "The Purpose-Driven Life" and well-known for work on issues of poverty and HIV/AIDS. This event is significant on a couple of levels. First, faith and politics have been more connected in this election than any other recent one. Second, the evangelical gap is lessening with each survey. I’ll keep you updated.
