This week’s Scripture for Advent is Isaiah 11:1 and talks about Jesus’ family tree as the stump of Jesse. Beliefnet offers an activity for kids to go along with the verse. It’s a tree to represent Jesus’ ancestry and families are supposed to hang ornaments to symbolize various people. We didn’t have ornaments in the shapes of knives or tablets of the law–and I can’t believe this is all that unusual. But my husband came up with the very smart idea of printing out pictures and hanging them from the branch.
